About the firm

A small firm, built for the decisions that matter.

True North Minds was founded on a simple frustration: too much advice, too little clarity. We set out to be the opposite kind of firm.

Our story

Founded by operators, not slide-makers.

Our advisors didn't start in consulting. We came up running businesses, leading teams, and sitting in the chairs our clients sit in today — the founder facing a fork in the road, the executive carrying a number, the board weighing a bet that can't be undone.

Along the way, we worked with the large strategy houses. We saw what they did brilliantly, and where they fell short: brilliant analysis that never quite made it into the room, recommendations no one owned, decks that outlived the decisions they were meant to inform.

True North Minds is our answer. A deliberately small firm where the people who diagnose the problem are the people who help you solve it — and who stay until the change has taken hold.

How we're built

Senior people. Small teams. Real ownership.

We keep our roster intentionally small. There's no pyramid of junior analysts learning on your problem. Every engagement is led and staffed by senior advisors who have done the work themselves.

That model means we say no to more than we say yes to. We take on a handful of engagements at a time, because the quality of our attention is the whole point. When we commit to a leadership team, your problem genuinely becomes ours.

Our advisors bring more than a hundred years of combined experience across technology, financial services, professional services, consumer, healthcare, energy and industrials — and across the full arc of a company's life, from early scale to mature transformation.

What we stand for

The principles we don't compromise on

Clarity over complexity

If we can't explain it simply, we don't understand it well enough yet. Plain language, sharp logic, no impressive obscurity.

Candour, always

You hire us for the truth, not the comfortable version of it. We say the hard thing in the room, and we say it with respect.

Outcomes, not output

We measure ourselves by what changes after we leave — decisions made, momentum built, capability that stays.
